1. The Gospel according to Ed 13:27. It is said that this cryptic verse was uttered by a previous incarnation whist tying datura to a trellis in a thunderstorm. The Orthodox Church of the Enlightened Sheep mandates that this is a call to free yourself of your current identity to form a stronger, more pure identity. Paradoxically, the Temple of the Rising Wine Glass maintains that the lie is actually inherit in the statement, as a person never really changes throughout life and has begun a violent letter writing campaign against the Orthodox Church. Other disciples, especially the Monks of the 265th Road, have also attacked the Orthodox Church as of late, accusing them of sheer folly in that they imply that the Church’s members hold to their new identities too strongly and that they should question these new feelings of self. These monks have been generally branded as heretics and have now mostly been imprisoned by the State. A cult that has been sentenced to death by the Church, the Order of the Contemplative Disassociation, unjustly stated that the phrase has value only in that they rant about how we all exist only in the mind of Ed, and in order to reach nirvana one must be willing to forgo any identity, as any identity is false. There are rumours that a few members of this order have escaped, especially some who were last heard muttering something about the Knowledge and Conversation and that they now walk hidden among us.
